This last Saturday was super fun.
And, yes, I do realize it's almost Saturday again and I am just posting this but give me a break.
Lots to do!
Anyways, we started out at Rainbow's End: "New Zealand's Premier Theme Park"!
Flattering picture of me eh?
I have a huge obsession with roller coasters. HUGE.
The theme park was followed by walking around the city holding hands. That was fun:)
We ended up at this plaza where the events of the Auckland Arts Festival were starting up for the night.
We got to hear these amazing drummers.
I'm pretty sure they were from... I was going to make an attempt at remembering here, but I really don't know.
They were sweet though.
We walked around and did some souvenir shopping, got some dinner, and basically killed time until sunset and that's when we chose to go up to the Sky Tower.
To sum that up: super cool views, super high, super pretty, super fun.
Beautiful Saturday.
Couple funny stories:
1. When we were up on the Sky Tower there were 3 really old chinese ladies that were about to walk over the glass part of the floor but they were scared. One looked at me and put her hand over her mouth like "oh no"! We had a good laugh with each other. Then the next one went and she tip toed across while giggling. I'm pretty sure this is one of those stories where "you had to be there" but I want to remember it. It was cute.
2. On the way home Jason challenged me to start from the beginning of the movie "Despicable me" and see how far I could quote it.
I have watched that movie approximately 24 times since being here.
And I am so close to complete memorization.
I only got about 5 minutes into it before we were laughing too hard to continue.
Jason did say I sounded like a girl Gru so that was flattering. :)
Hopefully I can post last Sunday's adventure tomorrow. We went to Glenbrook and rode a train, but the camera we took that day is having issues right now.
( I think it's tired from working so hard lately).
This weekend: COROMANDEL!!
*The last couple posts have been so rushed and not very well written.
My apoligies.
