Ah, Devenport.

This last weekend started out in Devenport.
I vow to retire here someday.
It's the cutest little town ever.
It's right across the...bay? from Auckland city. It's really old so it has all the ancient, amazing houses and huge, beautiful trees.
We walked around on this hill that had tunnels built into it in case of an attack during WWII.
You'd think we were at the shire looking at this above picture eh!

Ok. I think that's enough jumping pictures to last... a really long time.
They were fun though.
And how 'bout the sky!
I feel honored to have witnessed it.
:)
Me with wonderful Auckland city in the background.
Notice the cutsey I-love-this-place look on my face.
It's there because I love this place.
Imagine that.

Here I am in New Zealand with one of my best friends.
Cha-ching.

Again, just so we're clear: I will retire in Devenport, NZ one day.  I mean, look at this place.

Waiheke Island

This last Saturday Jason and I took a ferry out to Waiheke Island.
 {Why-Heck-Eee}
(I think that's how  you pronounce it...)

I didn't want to lug around my good camera all day, I just wanted to enjoy myself and take mental photographs:) So there aren't many pictures of the beautiful landscape. Oh and it was raining pretty much all day long. But yes, we still went swimming, and yes, it was a blast.

Ferry ride!
We were entertaining the people on the boat while attempting to take this picture because we kept getting off balance and falling over and laughing. I wanted the water in the background so yep, we're facing everyone right now. They didn't know there was free entertainment on board!

So first we got some lunch.
Yummy kebabs!
Then we walked to this beach and played around for a bit.

Probably the coolest picture of the day.
Good job, Jason.

I'm not sure why these last two got so overexposed but I like them.

We were just walking around randomly because we didn't know what to do and it started pouring rain so this is us taking shelter in a bus stop.

It was still pouring rain but we decided that it was probably a once in a lifetime opportunity to go swimming here so we did it anyway. I know it looks super hot and sunny in this picture but that, my friends, is the power of editing.
Anyways I forgot my swimming suit but luckily Jason made this great purchase of underwear earlier in the day so we made do:)

The waves were seriously so huge. It was a blast. I was wishing I had a kayak the entire time.
Oh and I'm pretty sure I saw that guy that plays Drew Barrymore's brother in Never Been Kissed. If it wasn't him it was his twin. I swear.

Then we got some hot cocoa and went home:)

Waiheke, it was lovely meeting you.
If I play my cards right I plan to come visit again on a sunny day, sound good?
Maybe you can meet my kids in like ten years.

Surprise!

So this boy:
was supposed to arrive here in New Zealand on Thursday, March 3rd for a month long visit.

Tuesday night Amanda and Becky came and picked me up to go skimboarding. They had this way cool spot they were going to show me! So we drove through this neighborhood to this side street and started walking down these steep stairs to this very small secluded beach. I got down to the beach first and was thinking to myself "wow, what a great spot to come and ponder about life" and I looked over and saw a guy sitting there on the rocks and I thought, "oh that guy is doing just that"!
Then I look back at Becky and Amanda because they were taking forever and they both were  just standing there with these huge grins on their faces. That's when I looked back to the "pondering guy" and realized it was...you got it, Jason. He was a whole two days early:)

Looking back, I kind of can't believe I didn't catch on.
-Jason hadn't been online for almost 2 days and I kept thinking, "man, where is he! I need to talk details with him"!
-My mom tip toed around a couple questions I asked her this week. Good job, woman.
-Amanda and Becky got to my house and were like, "hey, you should bring your camera". Skimboarding? Ok, sure, why not. I'm way to chill a person to ask many questions. haha
-And lastly, of course Jason would plan something like this. He is always so creative and cute with everything.

So what did we do for the two extra days, you ask!?
Well Tuesday night we went to Devonport and walked around and got some delicious ice cream with Amanda, and Becky.

Wednesday we went back to where he surprised me to take some more pictures.

I made him reenact it.

Surprise face!
(pretty sure it didn't really look like this. At least I hope not. haha)

We didn't quite make it in the 10 second time-frame my camera gives me...
That's better.

Then we went to dinner at a place called Buffalo Bar and Grill in Takapuna.

Wednesday we started out with a little swim at Browns Bay.

Then we went for a walk at Long Bay Regional Park.

Then we went to a movie:)

On tonight's agenda:
"Dancing in the Moonlight"
outdoor dance at a farm, don't mind if I do!

I'm going to try to update this with our adventures pretty often because if I go too long then I just won't do it because we're going to have SO MANY! I'll get overwhelmed.

Coming soon...
~Ferry out to Waiheke Island
~Shark Cage

Oh I love life right now:)
